“Last April, like so many Yonkers residents and animal lovers around the world, I was saddened to learn that 25 cats were found dead in our City – the victims of an unconscionable act of violence. This senseless disregard for the welfare of animals and pets has no place in our society, and it will not be tolerated in Yonkers.
“Yonkers residents love their pets, and my administration will continue to pursue policies – like our trap, neuter and release program – that promote and protect the health, safety and well-being of animals and pets in our City.
“I commend the Yonkers Police Department and SPCA of Westchester for conducting a thorough investigation and bringing a suspect into custody for animal cruelty.”
