| $00.00

Mount Vernon-Monster MashMOUNT VERNON, NY—October 22, 2014 – Children can start getting their spookiest gear ready for the 4th Annual Halloween Mini Monster Mash. There will be a lot to see and do besides shake off vampires, witches, werewolves, ghosts, and goblins.

The Mash, an alternative to traditional trick or treating, gives kids a chance to have fun while showing off their costumes. It’s taking place on Friday, October 31 at the Doles Community Center, 250 South 6 Avenue. The Recreation Department has organized games and activities for the young people. Every child attending the event will receive candy and snacks at the end of the evening.

“Last year we served upwards of 500 children under 12,’ said Recreation Commissioner Darren M. Morton. “The Recreation Department staff does a great job of making this a safe and fun event for everyone, including the adults.”

The Mount Vernon Recreation Department provides year-round afterschool and Saturday services of athletic and social activities and has hosted Halloween events since the department’s inception almost 100 years ago.
