YONKERS, NY -- March 31, 2013 -- Westchester On the Level host Hezi Aris explores where we are? I mean physically. Are we in Yonkers, Bronxville, Westchester, Crestwood, or some other place? The U.S. Post Office has legal status over where we are. In fact, they define us by zip code. We'll have fun with this issue and explore others during the morning hours. Westchester On the Level is heard every weekday live from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, or on demand, by way of the archival database through the Internet:
UPDATE: 10:19 p.m. "Leo has been found," said the now relieved Laura. "Three boys found him and brought him to the animal specialty center. We are so happy. Thank you so much for your concern."
Editor's Note: Have a wonderful night. Now we can get a restful sleep. Welcome home Leo!
Laura lost our beagle named LEO on Saturday night 3/30. He was last seen on Briggs Avenue in Yonkers. If you know where he is, please call 914-830-8330.
Do you remember the television commercial that admonished those who did not know the answer to: “It’s 10 o’clock? Do you know where your child is? If your child attends the Casimir Pulaski School, situated within the Yonkers section referred to as Crestwood, you may not know the school is instead designated to be situated in Scarsdale, when its physical imprint is squarely in Yonkers. Should your child attend Sarah Lawrence College, if asked, many people delude themselves by claiming the august school of higher learning is not situated in Yonkers opting instead to using its postal address which places it within the jurisdiction of the Village of Bronxville Post Office.
Today my family and many others in Yonkers will celebrate Easter. While Easter is the holiest day of the year for Christians, there are lessons each of us can reflect on, regardless of one's faith.
It may be too soon to tell if Yonkers’ economic development efforts continue to be driven in-house or that outside demands have taken reign over at least one aspect of economic development on the Yonkers waterfront and its ancillary and residual affects elsewhere. What can be said is that Yonkers Deputy Mayor Sue Gerry is deeply immersed on two fronts. One are the circumstances driving the efforts, the other the undertakings themselves. That’s a big plate. Truth is the simplest; spin demeaning and eventually self-destructive. Here is the entire story, or at least as much as we want Yonkers City Hall to think we know.

As Catholics celebrate the joy of the resurrection at Easter, they are especially invigorated by the selection of a new Pope. This humble and unpretentious servant of God was elected as Pope for the world's 1.2 billion Catholics. In his first public appearance he asked for prayers for himself, and then said, "Let us pray for the whole world." This is in keeping with the most important celebration in the Christian world: Easter. While Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead distinguishes Christians from other religions, Christ truly died for all mankind and for a better world.
