The "Unsinkable" Grace Borrani Survives the Political Skirmishes to Contest Serving as Yonkers City Council President

BORRANI_GraceYONKERS, NY -- September 30, 2013 -- The skirmishes were meant to diminish all hope for Grace Boranni to survive the legal contests to get her anywhere near getting her voice heard, much less garnering one vote were she not to gain a political line upon which to hang her hat. The political newcomer, a registered Republican, contested the republican designee but failed to dislodge him from holding onto the party designation. The next challenge, still awaiting authentication or denial of validity, is the outcome of the Opportunity to Ballot in which Liam McLaughlin, the Republican designee had hoped to eclipse her supporters with a write-in coup. Rather than hope for a positive outcome, recognizing that final say would reside in the hands of the Westchester County Board of Elections (WCBoE) to which she had no further say, she solicited the WCBoE for the right to launch a new party she has named, the "Every Vote Counts" Party. Grace Boranni, no matter  the outcome of the Conservative Party standing to be attested to by the WCBoE, Boranni will be on the ballot. She intends to challenge the wo contenders to that end in the November 5th General Election. She is vying to serve in the capacity of Yonkers City Council President... She is a first time political office contender.

NYS State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli’s Statement on Possible Federal Government Shutdown

Dinapoli-thomas“A shutdown of the federal government would be bad for the United States, bad for New York and bad for our already struggling economy. The political gamesmanship being shown in Washington serves no one. It’s time for leaders of both the House and the Senate to forge an agreement that will avoid a costly mistake of shuttering important government services and furloughing hundreds of thousands of public servants, while finding responsible solutions to the broader fiscal challenges that lie immediately ahead.
