Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Proud to Cast Vote to Divert Effluence from Yonkers Water Treatment Plant
YONKERS, NY -- January 28, 2014 -- The Yonkers City Council today voted unanimously to pass a resolution opposing the recent proposal by Westchester County to divert sewage from other cities in Westchester into the Sewage Treatment Plant located along the Yonkers Waterfront in the Ludlow section of the city.
The Yonkers waterfront is home to families and local businesses and a growing business environment. The diversion of an additional 125,000 gallons of sewage per day to the Sewage Treatment Plant in Yonkers would exacerbate an already existing problem; the water treatment plant has been operating for years at 130 percent capacity. The area about the water treatment plant due to the odor emanating from the treatment plant and its impact on the quality of life of neighborhood residents. As Northern Westchester counties continue to grow, so will their need for waste management. The diversion of additional effluent now would open the door to even more sewage being diverted from up-county in the future.
The City Council of Yonkers, therefore, called upon Westchester County to halt any plans to divert additional sewage into the City of Yonkers.
Since you brought it up 30years of HATING what happened to the library on Broadway? And all the statues at Untermeyers park who houses and yards still have all the stolen items in maybe????? Hmmmmm

Even though he may be posting in defense of Mikey and "Big Len" (let's not forgot his Dumbo & Jumbo configuration of the Spanos), Johhny would have no clue what transpired in the 1970s when "Big Len" shoved the plant up SW Yonkers ass.
His cognitive skills, back then, were totally dismanteled by his hobby.
So who the hell is he to give an opinion now.

While we're on the subject, lets not forget about then County Legislator Herman (Don King) Keith getting a house and adjacent building lot next door (God knows what else) for next to nothing because it abutted the plant!

What ???, is correct. For those not old enough to remember you are excused.
For those old enough to remember but do not recall it that way time for a brain scan to make sure you are not on the beginnings of Alzheimer.
Embrace the facts and allow them to help foster your own thoughts for the here and now. Do not dismiss them just because ------.

Dear "Why Hate",
Here's how it happened back in the 70s. No legislator wanted this plant. Lenny told Ed Brady and Al that he'd take it, that he could pull the wool over the people's eyes in that area. Those, who are part of the cabal in the Herald Statesman (now JN) provided cover for lenny et al.
Result - SW Yonkers got the poop. Lenny escaped unharmed.
Talk about cheap seats. Anyone who supports this crap (pun intended) is about as cheap and shallow a person as exists.
BTW, that "hater" argument has been used by Spencer, Spring and Mclaughlin repeatedly over the years to attack the messenger when the message cannot be impugned.
You should be ashamded of your perpetual deceit and deception. Then again, guess you wouldn't exist without it.
To reiterate, stay tuned (another J. Spender favotite) and watch the final result. Yonkers will get the poop again and Len's offspring will come out smelling like perfume while SW will smell like shit.
It's a no brainer (right John)

The council's vote did nothing to divert waste from ludlow. It merely called upon the county to divert the effluent and the city's vote is not binding on them. We need to get County Executive Astorino who carried Yonkers in the recent election to support the city he professes to love and stop this practice.

Wow...even the spano haters have their "old school" hating coming out. Attacking Big Lens actions from over 30 years ago. You guys are classy. Enjoy the cheap seats in life!!
No MORON! People like me KNOW about Yonkers's history and those scumbags that stole from it "back in the day!" These same scum bags now have their offspring doing the same thing today!
Stop the madness!

"Actually Lenny Spano, the grand patriarch of the gang, was the one who sold out to give SW Yonkers the plant."
If that were true, then why did "My Pal Al" tell nearby homeowners, that Westchester County will buy their houses if the smell got bad (so you don't have to worry about it.)
Al was pushing the whole thing.

Actually Lenny Spano, the grand patriarch of the gang, was the one who sold out to give SW Yonkers the plant.
Now his genius son is making believe that he's fighting it.
Stay tuned. See who wins and then you will know that you will always be a loser when you are fooled by the Spanos.
