Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.

MOUNT VERNON, NY – October 1, 2014 — “As Westchester’s County Executive, Rob Astorino alone is responsible for championing racist housing policies that discriminate against minorities and have resulted in federal action against the County. The federal complaint is not directed at the families of Westchester, it takes aim squarely at their County Executive Rob Astorino who has been the sole roadblock in reforming Westchester County‘s housing policies.

“Westchester’s families have not violated federal law, County Executive Rob Astorino has.  Our community is just paying the price for Rob Astorino’s policies which are costing us millions in housing grants because of his refusal to adhere to federal civil rights policies that were put in place to make our nation more tolerant and accepting of all peoples.”

  1. Good Fella

This whole mess was the result of Spano’s lies to the government. Astorino is cleaning up the DEMOCRAT’S MESS. Hey Ruth, don’t let the truth get in the way of a good sound bite.

  2. Veritas

Rob Astorino has not violated federal law. Andy Spano violated federal law when he accepted HUD funds earmarked for a specific low income housing purpose and then fudged documents to conceal the truth. The result was the $30 million judgment that taxpayers are footing the bill for and 750 units of low income housing in the “whitest” towns in the county. HUD wants the county to market those units specifically to non-whites outside of the county. Spot spewing your racist rhetoric Ruth and read the lawsuit settlement. The only thing precluding someone from living in Scarsdale is economics, not skin color. Wouldn’t Cuomo and Hillary just love to have 50 units of low income housing next to their New Castle million dollar plus homes?
